What If You Forget to Buy Travel Insurance?

For many people, acquiring travel insurance is not on their list of things-to-do when making their travel preparations. What most travelers do not realize is that there are many events that can happen on a vacation that can result in serious financial loss.

Before traveling abroad, it is important to consider the reasons why you should not forget to buy travel insurance:

Personal Injury: When planning to travel in another country, you should think about what would happen if you were in accident and needed medical treatment. Depending on the severity of the injury, medical costs could run from hundreds to thousands of dollars. Buying travel insurance before your trip will ensure that if you need medical treatment, your costs will be covered. Personal accident coverage can also cover you in the event of death or if you are permanently disabled. Some policies will pay your legal costs if you decide to sue a third party for damages as a result of personal injury or death.

Unexpected Cancellation: After booking and paying for a trip, many people do not think about the money they will lose if they had to suddenly cancel. This could be due to an illness or death in your family, jury service, fire, or flood or storm damage to your home or business. The financial loss could be enormous. Travel insurance will cover your costs if you have to cancel your trip.

Missed Departure: On the way to the airport, most people do not consider how much money they would lose if they missed their flight. This could be the result of weather conditions, vehicle breaking down, etc. With travel insurance, you will be covered in the event of a missed flight. You may also receive a lump sum if there is a valid reason why your departure was delayed or you missed your flight.

Lost or Delayed Luggage: When traveling by plane, many people have had their luggage either delayed or lost. Replacing clothes and incidentals can be quite costly. Travel Insurance will cover lost luggage items. If delayed, the policy will cover the purchase of necessities that you require while waiting for your luggage to arrive.

Cause Injury to another Person: If you have rented a car while traveling abroad and crash into another car, and are found at fault, you may be responsible for paying for another person’s medical costs. Personal liability insurance will cover you for another person’s loss. Some policies will pay for the cost of an attorney if you are sued.

Lost Belongings and Theft: When you are traveling abroad, you should consider what you would do if you lost your belongings or had them stolen. Losing you cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment could leave you in a frightening situation. Traveler’s insurance will cover you if you lost or had your means of payment stolen. If you take expensive items such as jewelry and cameras on your trip, you run the risk of having the items stolen. Travelers insurance will cover you in the event of a theft of an item. Most policies impose a limit of coverage on any one item. You should consider adding ‘all risks’ coverage to your valuables. As well, make sure that you become familiar with any stipulations in your travel policy regarding the loss of an item. If you left a camera at a public place such as a park, you may not be covered

Traveling abroad can be an exciting and fun adventure. When making your traveling preparations, you want to make sure that your plans will result in a relaxing and enjoyable trip. Purchasing travelers insurance will give you peace of mind knowing that you are protected.

Hayling Island is only a small island, but it has much to offer to resident or visitor alike.

Hayling’s combination of rural and marine environments has left us a legacy of unique natural history and a bio-diversity with walking distances of anywhere on the Island.

Hayling Island also has over 3 miles of beaches right on the doorstep of the Solent as well as the Harbours of Langstone and Chichester. With its safe open spaces, fresh air and sheltered waters, Hayling Island has much to offer those that enjoy sports of all kinds, whether on land or at sea.

You may only think that Hayling has a beach and not much else, but you would be wrong! There’s loads to do here!!

Try your hand at golf – Hayling has two “pay and play” golf courses: One on the seafront and one at the edge of Tournerbury woods. Both offer a challenging game mixed with great scenery.

Walk or cycle the Hayling Billy coastal path – The Hayling coastal path runs most of the length of Hayling along the original route of the “Hayling Billy” train line.

Sit & Watch the boats go by – The waters that surround Hayling are surprisingly busy with both commercial and leisure craft. Why not while away a relaxing hour watching the boats go by? Our favourite spots are the Island’s two waterfront pubs: the Ferry Boat Inn and the Inn on the Beach where you can sit with a drink and watch the marine world go by.

A horticulturist named William Fickling Sr. once discovered a charming pink flowering tree in his own backyard on 1949. While visiting from Washington, D.C. he happens to stumble upon the same tree and visions to beautify his neighborhood by planting more of it through the help of his neighbors. The vision materialized and soon enough every one in his community is planting the beautiful tree in each and everyones backyards.

A certain Carolyn Crayton discovered the beauty of these pink flowering trees and expressed her desire to Fickling to plant the same trees in her town. The beautification of Macon soon began to spread through the pioneer team of Fickling and Crayton. The 300,000 trees that are being celebrated during the Cherry Blossom Festival in Georgia indeed have a great history to tell.

Moby Dick is an All-American Classic Tale. It was written in 1851 by an American novelist named Herman Melville. It is the story of the battle between a ship owned by Captain Ahab and a ferocious white sperm male named Moby Dick. Moby Dick is a story that was regarded the high value of being discussed in American schools as part of their curriculum. The story has an interesting history because it wasnt accepted by many the moment it was released. It wasnt until 1930 when the book was republished with illustrations that it finally gained popularity.

American painter Frank Stella made several art works focusing on the concept of Moby Dick from 1985 to 1997. He created one artwork or two to each of the novels 165 chapters. The varying artworks altogether sum up to about 266 pieces of sculptures, metal relief, murals and prints. Stellas likeness and passion for the novel indeed bordered down to obsession for being able to create this massive collection. His works are currently considered as one of Americas priceless treasures.

There will be an exhibition to be held showcasing Moby Dick works by Frank Stella at the Grand Rapids Art Museum, Michigan. It will not show all the Moby Dick artworks but some 30 pieces including his widely acclaimed masterpiece “The Fountain”. The exhibit can be viewed by the public and everyone is invited to see it on January 23 up to May 3, 2009. The activity is a great opportunity for families to enjoy and for parents to bond with their young ones.

Moby Dick is a literary piece that marked itself in American History. It was a popular tale and a classic favorite. One interesting fact about the story is its inclusion of a character named “Starbuck” that is the main inspiration of the famous coffee chain. Starbuck is the young mate of Captain Ahabs ship who is the sole person who contradicts Ahabs plan to fight and kill the whale. His character was of a gentle and possibly coward nature who longs to go back home to his young wife and son.

Catch the exhibit and be inspired of a talent of a great American artist.

Save Mother Nature at Oregon Fairs and Festivals

Oregon is quite naturally beautiful. Every year, tourists flock to see the different sights around the State. Evergreen Mountain forests, waterfalls, and pristine lakes that are scattered around Oregon. In particular, forests are quite grand and splendid, and the ample supply of lumber has resulted in a number of practical and ornamental uses. It’s a way to use the natural wonders of Mother Nature.

However, the availability of wood in recent years has steadily dwindled. This is none other than our own fault, truth be told, as we have squandered needlessly a resource that we have believed to be limitless. And forest fires in recent years have ravaged the woods even further. It’s not surprising that there are fewer lumber than ever.

To restore the forests and Oregon’s lumber, we should all do our part. There have been efforts by private and government groups to conserve the remaining forests, and I am quite confident that if we all do our parts in this, generations and generations will still see the beauty that is in our forests. I am a woodcarver, and on a more personal note, I have drastically reduced the wood I use in my crafted items. I hope to eliminate them entirely from my work, but really, I don’t think I’ll see that happen soon.

Instead, I have decided to complement my woodcraft with another material. Other than vast forests, Oregon is also close to the sea, and as such there are an abundance of seashells to complement the wood. Earth and water combining for a more magnificent piece of art; such a thing has become popular with the fans of my work, and they crave for more.

But then, I practice restraint. The last thing that I want is to have a problem with sea resources in much the same way that there are now problems with lumber. At the very core, we must all be conscious of how much we take from Mother Nature; and be sure to give back as much as we take. So while I can indeed keep making crafts at a breakneck pace, I refuse to do.
