There´s one part of Europe where summer never really ends. As the Spanish owned Canary Islands enjoy great weather all year round. Basking in temperatures in the 20´s even during the darkest days of December.
As a result these seven islands have become enormously popular as a winter sun destination. Attracting close to ten million tourists every year. Drawn not only by the great weather but also by fantastic beaches, breathtaking scenery and high standards of tourist accommodation.
Lanzarote is the most easterly link in the chain and is hugely popular with tourists from the UK, Germany and Eire. Who collectively accounted for around one million arrivals last year alone. With the bulk staying in one of the main tourist resorts of Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen or Costa Teguise.
Weather
Tourists can expect to enjoy plenty of days on the beach during the winter months. Along with very little rainfall and plenty of daylight hours. As the sun here doesn’t set until around 6pm at the earliest. But come nightfall the temperatures can drop very quickly – as the island has something of a desert climate. With the Sahara just some 90 miles away.
Places To Stay
The south of the island is the best bet for sun seekers during the winter months. As even on a small island such as Lanzarote there´s a pronounced microclimate. With the north of the island often cloudy and cool at that time of the year.
Many visitors opt for a self catering holiday. Booking their own Lanzarote villas and apartments direct online. Along with their own flights. As a result villas in Playa Blanca, the fast growing resort located right at the southern tip of Lanzarote, have grown enormously in popularity over recent years.
Getting To Lanzarote
Flights to Lanzarote should be cheaper than ever before this winter. As two of the leading low cost flight operators in the UK – easyJet and Ryanair are now competing on this route. With Ryanair introducing 15 new services from airports across the UK from October onwards.
Exploring Lanzarote
In the unlikely event of bad weather Lanzarote offers plenty for visitors to do and see. From the majestic volcanoes and lava fields of the Timanfaya National Park, through the creations of the local artist César Manrique, to the many historic towns and villages peppered about the island.
Car hire and petrol are very good value on Lanzarote making it simple to get out and explore the islands many diverse attractions.
Cheap Airlines in Canada — Tips to get the best deals
The costs of airline flights have changed over the years in Canada. At one time, travelers received many extras on their flights, but now costs have been added to just about every part of a flight. The price of flying has dramatically increased which has resulted in many people who are unable to afford to fly. Fortunately, there are now ways in which people can locate cheap airline flights in Canada.
The following is a list of tips to get the best deals when purchasing airline tickets in Canada:
Book Tickets Online: When selling tickets online, airlines can keep their costs down because there is no overhead associated with selling through call-centers. These savings are passed on to customers who book their tickets online.
Comparison Shop: Compare the prices of several airlines. There are online sites that provide all of the information you need to check and compare airline prices.
Book in Advance: It is common for airlines to start raising their prices as a plane gets more bookings. If you book early, you can take advantage of the cheaper price while the plane has not yet been filled.
Take Advantage of Sales: Many cheap airlines offer special sales on a regular basis to compete with other airlines. You can cam keep an eye out for sales online or in newspapers. They also offer sales during the off season. If you can, avoid holiday and summer flights and travel.
Last Minute Flights: If a plane is not full, many airlines will offer what they call “last minute flights” on their website.
Minimize Flight Options: Some Canadian flights will offer several options when purchasing airline tickets. Prices go up with the more extras you get. Pick the option with the least amount of frills such as headphones.
Be Flexible When Choosing Flight Times: Try to be open when picking a date and time to fly. Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday are good days to fly cheap. If there is a certain day and time you want to fly, you will often have to book far in advance to get a cheap flight
Choose Discount airlines: Discount airlines offer many cheap airline tickets. Legacy airlines will increasingly offer lower fares than the discount airlines. Some provide in-flight services, while others have none at all. Some of these flights will offer minimum services or no services at all in order to cut costs so the traveler can get a cheap flight.
Charter Flights: Charter flights will lower their prices a day or two before the flight in an effort to fill any empty seats. This is a great time to get a cheap ticket.
Purchase an Unsold Vacation Package: When people who sell vacation packages get close to the departure date and find themselves with unsold packages, they will often lower their prices in order to get rid of them.
With so many ways to lower the price of airline tickets, one should be able to avoid paying full price on the next flight.

Are you thinking about traveling to Asia soon for a holiday – then why not go to Malaysia? There you will find a very inviting climate and thoroughly inviting people too. The tropical climate allows for a huge variety of both flora and fauna to populate the hills and mountains of Malaysia, while the coastline is among the most beautiful that you can imagine boasting miles and miles of golden sands.
Dotting the ocean just off the coast line you will find many beautiful islands, some of which boast their own tropical eco-climate. Surrounding these islands you will often see coral reefs, surrounded by tropical fish of all shapes, colors and sizes.
Turtle Island Park Turtle Island Park is situated in the Sulu Sea, just off the east coast of Sabah. There are three gorgeous islands that make up the Turtle Island Park – Selingan, Gulisan and Bakungan Kechil Islands. As the name of the island suggests, its all about seeing the turtles laying their eggs and seeing them in their natural habitat. The best time to visit these islands is when the sea is calmest – between July and October.
Gomantong Caves Gomantong Caves are situated on the eastern lowlands of Sabah and in fact are an intricate limestone cave system. Collecting birds’ nests is the main attraction and the WWF has described this as ‘the best-managed edible birds nest cave in the world’. Best to visit during harvesting season – February to April and July to September.
Poring Hot Spring These hot springs are located within Kinabalu Park. You can relax in the sulfuric waters of the springs after climbing the heights of Mount Kindabalu, while at the same time you may be fortunate enough to spot the world’s largest flower – the Rafflesia, which stretches to over a meter wide at maturity.
Kinabatangan River Kinabatangan River is the longest river in Sarawak, consisting of a 563 km north-easterly journey from its source to the Sulu Sea. Well worth a visiting at various points along the route where you can see limestone caves, freshwater swamp forest, the reverie forest, mangrove swamps and oxbow lakes.
As for hotels, you can find anything and everything you would wish for within the borders of Malaysia.
Maybe you like the idea of a city holiday, in which case you may wish to plump for the 5 star lavishness of the hotels in Kuala Lumpur or Kuching. If you are backpacking around the country you may wish to try one of the new Tune motels that have been springing up recently, which can be had at very much the budget price.
There is something for everyone in Malaysia. Figure what really appeals to you first off and then your desires can be fulfilled no matter what they may be.

It is very important for visitors to the United States to be covered under a health insurance plan. Especially parents who visit the country to meet their children and friends need to be insured as the medical costs in the U.S are very expensive.
There are a number of U.S visitor health insurance plans available for visiting parents. The Visitor Medical insurance, Visitor Health Insurance and Non-U.S Citizen Insurance come under this category. These insurance plans have been underwritten with great care by famous U.S companies and all claims regarding them can be administered in the U.S. Not only parents but even students, scholars and immigrants can subscribe to these plans online.
All the needs of visiting parents are included in visitor’s health insurance plans and they are valid in the U.S as well as several other countries. Most of the policies provide for a facility according to which insured people can utilize the services of doctors and hospitals present in the U.S and can also avail the facility of direct billing.
US residents can locate and purchase an insurance policy for their parents on an insurance website that compares and contrasts plans by giving the details of age, maximum coverage needed, the extent of the coverage period required and citizenship. A variety of health insurance plan options are displayed from which suitable plan can be chosen. Some examples of visitors health insurance plans are- Inbound USA plan, Immigrant Secure Plan, Atlas America, Patriot America and Visit USA Plan.
The Inbound USA plan, Immigrant Secure Plan, Atlas America, Patriot America and Visit USA Plan are some of the many health insurance plan options available to choose from. All medical costs due to illness or injury occurred in a foreign country are covered under Visitor medical insurance plans. These plans can be bought prior to travel or during the travel period. They can be bought for any time period, ranging from 5 days to three years.
A maximum coverage of $50,000- $100,000 is provided by the visitors health insurance plans. These plans include coverage for emergency medical expenses (both inpatient hospital and outpatient), doctor’s office fees, prescription drugs, emergency medical evacuation, repatriation of mortal remains, accidental death and dismemberment.
Even though visiting parents maybe healthy and fit, one cannot predict when an injury or illness may strike. Holiday Destinations: The Seven Wonders Of The World
September 25, 2009 by Max Jones
Mankind has always been fascinated with lists and the ancient Greeks were no different. They created a list of the world’s seven wonders but their list only considered the structures more or less around the Mediterranean region. To them, the number seven symbolized perfection and plenty.
The ancient Seven Wonders of the World included Great Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus, the Colossus of Rhodes and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. To the Greeks, these were the most remarkable structures of their time.
Today only the Egyptian pyramids, which were also the oldest, survive from the original list of seven wonders.
Several lists were subsequently compiled to update the list of seven wonders, but each had its critics. New7Wonders Foundation tried to resolve the issue by conducting a global poll in which people could cast their vote by phone or through the Internet. On July 7, 2007, the results of the poll were released in Lisbon, Portugal. The Giza Pyramid was conferred the title of Honorary Candidate.
An unexpected name cropped up in the new list – Brazil’s statue of ‘Christ the Redeemer’. The statue was built as late as 1931 while all the other six wonders predate it by at least three centuries.
The other six wonders on the new list comprise the Inca ruins of isolated Machu Picchu, the spectacular Mayan pyramid of Chichen Itza in Mexico, the Great Wall of China that stretched across the country, the famous Colosseum in Rome, India’s white marble Taj Mahal in Agra and Jordan’s rose-coloured sandstone city in Petra.
What is beyond doubt is that each of the wonders on the list, along with the Pyramid of Giza, is worth a visit and should be part of your holiday travel at some point in time.
Spread across continents and showcasing diverse cultures, almost all the wonders have lived through battles, survived storms and are a testimony to man’s ingenuity, skill and craftsmanship.

The Best Gay Beaches in Mexico: Cancun, Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta

So enough of the congratulations because, with the spring season on the rise and the summer sun just around the corner, I know you are dying to know where you will be going for your next vacation.
One gay destination that is growing in popularity that you will be thrilled to visit is Puerto Vallarta. Exactly what makes this destination so special? To begin with it is awesome. When you combine the wonderful climate, a captivating ocean bay, a lush jungle, excellent beaches and rugged mountains you get the ideal destination for a weekend getaway.
Puerto Vallarta itself is not large, but be careful not to judge it on its size alone. Even though the city is small, it is a delightful city that is devoted to serving its visitors. This little city is somehow able to retain the old school Mexican charm that it is famous for in the midst of a modern resort infrastructure.
Cancun is the home of an abundance of charming restaurants, modern medical facilities, excellent airports and a safe water supply. It is also a very safe environment which makes this spot a perfect paradise. If you are a person that is looking for quaintness but will not sacrifice the modern conveniences, then your search is over.
If those few things about Puerto Vallarta did not quite get your attention, then may be Acapulco is the one for you. Acapulco is all about sunny Pacific beaches, clean waters, and rugged mountains. It is also about cruise ships, an up-and-coming spring break destination and an ideal hot spot for both gay singles and couples.
Opposite to Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco is famous for its flamboyant gay bars and clubs. Its gay bars may not be that refined or upscale as most big city clubs, but that is what makes Acapulco a unique experience.
The last, but definitely not least, gay destination that you should consider is Cancun. Many travelers agree that nothing compares to Cancun in regards to being one of the best gay travel destinations ever. Cancun is known as a haven for tourists, especially gay tourists.
The main attraction of this island paradise is the fun nightlife. Visiting the funky and upbeat clubs such as the Picante bar and the Karamba will surely light up the nights you spend in Cancun.
Karamba bar is the largest gay disco in Cancun while Picante bar is their oldest gay club. Party under the night sky in Karamba’s open air disco to the tunes of both local and international djs. There are also nightly stage performances with drag queens lip-synching to Broadway tunes and impersonators dancing to the latest tunes. Parties start at the stroke of 10:30 pm and stretches well out into the wee hours of the morning.
Picante, on the other hand, is still bumping and grinding after 14 years in the business. Visit Picante for their Vegas showgirls-style dances, strippers, singers, and the bar’s owner and resident emcee Mother Picante. And if you’re lucky, you might catch the annual beauty pageant during the Carnival and get to see who gets crowned as “The Queen.”
When you travel to Cancun you will never be hungry. The city is filled with wonderful restaurants that serve cuisines of international and local flavors.
If this isnt enough to convince you that your gay vacation will be unforgettable, you will love the gay friendly resorts. One of the best places to stay is the lavish Hyatt Cancun Caribe. Other top hotels include the Presidente Intercontinental, the Melia Cancun or the Villas Boutique Hotel. Whatever you are looking for you will find that these resorts are perfect.
So pack those bags and get yourself a ticket to paradise. Whether the destination is Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco, or Cancun, you’re sure to have a grand, gay time! Bon Voyage!
