A Thing or Two on FInancial Freedom

Everyone is dreaming of financial freedom and early retirement. Financial freedom is the definition for being free and not worrying about where to get your money for daily survival. Financial freedom is having extra, not scrimping on what was left. Financial freedom is having your money work for you, not you working for the money. Financial freedom is growing your asset column or financial status without you doing anything.

People often avoid the topic on money and other money matters because according to them money is the root of all evil. I say do the opposite. Talk money, think of money, be obsessed about money. In this way, you will learn to love the concept of money and learn more about the subject. Some people are actually afraid of the topic or do not spend the time to learn more about money. In this case, they do not know how it works and thus do not also know how to control it effectively.

Financial freedom is achieved when your expenses are lower than your income, or your income exceeds your expenses which leave you with a positive cash flow and some savings. Financial literacy teaches us to invest our excess money through various growth funds or mutual funds. This is in opposing to what was earlier taught to us to save our money in the banks. Mutual funds are places where your money can grow because it will be used to finance other companies.

Financial freedom also teaches us to change our spending habits. After receiving our income we should save or invest first. This is opposing to a habit where bills should be paid first after we receive our salary. It is simple, you are sending signals to the universe that you get rid of your money first, so what was left is for your savings. Giving tithes or 10% of your monthly income to churches is also a teaching under financial freedom.

There are still a lot of ways to learn about financial freedom. Check out your neighborhoods local listings for events and time schedules.
