Homemade Toys in Connecticut Fairs

A practical mom will always find ways on how to save a few bucks on household necessities. There are a lot of do it yourself household remedies which varies from cleaning agents, soaps, shampoos, body washes, baby diapers, baby toys, etc. Being practical is being able to save a lot of dollars from household items. A practical mother would then turn to creative ways on how to be practical while having fun also.

Moms who wanted to save on budget are making homemade toys for their children. These toys are easy to do and safe for playing as well. The ingredients for homemade play dough are: 1 cup table salt, 1 ” cups of flour, 4 tablespoons olive oil, 4 teaspoons cream of tartar, food coloring and flavor oil (vanilla, peppermint, almond, etc.) for scent.

Mix all the ingredients together to form a huge paste like “dough”. Grab a handful, indent a side with your finger and add food color after which start molding it in your palm to show the achieved color. Add more drops of food color until you were able to reach your desired color. Do this with the rest while putting a new color so you could have play dough of different shades.

The homemade play dough can be stored in air tight glass jars that can last for months. You need not to worry if your child was able to accidentally eat some since the materials that you used are safe and edible. Homemade play dough can dry after sometime, when this happen just pour a drop or two of water to regain the consistency. Play dough can last for months without damaging.

You may want to push your creative arms a little farther! Try printing cute labels for your play dough jars. Remember to put your business name and contact numbers into the labels so people may instantly contact you for their orders. Homemade toys are definitely a craze and many would be interested to try one of those!
