The nickname, “Flower of Scotland” was given to Aberdeen because of the many parks, flower displays and gardens that are there. Visitors from around the world come in the spring to enjoy the blooms of the 3 million crocuses, 2 million roses and 11 million daffodils. If you are a biker or enjoy hiking, you will enjoy the Old Deeside Railway path. If you follow it to the end and back, it’s an 18 mile trip. Children will enjoy seeing the stationary train and watching the toy trains. There is a 15 to 20 minute train ride that can be enjoyed as well.
