Hermanus, the popular tourist destination on Walker Bay, is located at the south coast of South Africa’s Western Cape. It is easily accessible from the Cape Town International Airport. Being on the ocean, the area boasts a variety of water related attractions and has been described as the Rivera of the South. More than 40 guest houses in Hermanus offer you a delightful array of choices and sightseeing attractions.
Many people look forward to staying along the famous cliff paths where the bay and the ocean can be observed. There the visitor can see the Southern White Wales that visit Walker Bay. They come for the mating season, in late September, but whale activity usually continues from June to December. The guesthouses are centrally located between the cliffs and town. There is a very short walk in either direction.
If golf is part of your agenda, you can stay on the site of the old Hermanus Golf Clubhouse, where a guesthouse now occupies the site. The golf course is outside your door, and still the cliff paths overlooking the scenic Walker bay are but steps away.
Tours are available from your guesthouse to boating excursions for whale watching, and also for the more adventurous traveler, you can dive in shark cages in the cold Atlantic and get up close and personal with the Great White sharks in the Region.
In town, there are many quaint and unique shops that offer boutique items including locally made jewelry, gifts, and locally collected abalone shells with their iridescent pearl-like interiors. Points of interest in and around town include nature activities such as bird watching, a visit to the Fernkloof Nature Reserve, a and the Hermanus Magnetic Observatory. All these points are close by the location of your guest house.
The owners and managers, many of whom are couples, take special care to make your stay with them a warm and memorable experience. You will make new friends with your fellow guests in an intimate atmosphere not found in hotels. Both the area and your particular accommodation will be uniquely intimate.
Regardless of your activities, your stay at guest houses in Hermanus will provide the environment for luxurious relaxation with your choice of splendid sea, mountain and garden views. You can enjoy swimming and relaxing in a spa knowing that you are experiencing the best in European style hospitality and personalized service. Hermanus provides a small, intimate atmosphere, complemented by your accommodation, often with less than 10 rooms or suites. Pet Friendly Places to Stay in Ayr, Scotland
February 26, 2010 by Andrew Kelly

Isn’t it great when you go on a vacation to somewhere you have never visited before? Do you find yourself getting excited thinking about arriving in a new place to enjoy some free time? Did you know that pets too can enjoy (and benefit from) a break away from home? Increasing numbers of folk are choosing to take their pet with them on vacation and if you visit a place such as the city of Ayr in Scotland you begin to appreciate the many advantages (for you an your pet) such a place has over other cities in the UK. Unfortunately it isn’t very easy finding pet friendly accommodation so I have listed a few Ayr hotels, that allow pets, below.
Situated on the beautiful south west coast of Scotland, the pretty town of Ayr attracts a great deal of visitors year after year. The majority of folk arrive in search of places to visit relating to the world renowned, and Scottish National Poet, Robert Burns. There are a multitude of places in Ayr in which the bard spent some time or to which there are strong associations with him and most are well worth a visit. The best way in which to gain an understanding of the man, his life and his poetry is to visit the surrounding area where you will find many more places relating to him and a host of statues and other monuments dedicated to him.
The general area around Ayr is called the county of Ayshire for which the town serves as the main center (administrative). Overall the county consists of lovely lush and green rural and agricultural land and unspoiled coast and beaches. The lack of pollution is immediately apparent with fresh country smells and crystal clear water, just perfect for you and your pet. Animals love both the countryside and the seaside and as you both explore you may start to suffer from a little deja vu. The fact is that this fantastic part of Scotland is incredibly popular with movie makers and countless number of local places have appeared in numerous works including the mystical cult British masterpiece called “The Wicker Man”. The Wickerman Festival is held just down the road at the end of July each year, it is a family friendly music and arts festival which is growing in size and popularity and I can not recommend it enough.
The Wickerman Festival is held in the neighboring county of Dumfries and Galloway but for this article I am concentrating on Ayr and Ayrshire however, before I list the pet friendly accommodation I would like to request that you really take care to ensure that your chosen hotel or guest house does not regret allowing pets in their rooms. Some places make a charge for pets while other may only charge if there is damage or the room requires extra cleaning but if everyone’s pet behaves pet lovers will keep their excellent reputation.
Three Hotels Which Allow Pets
The Swallow Station Hotel
With seventy three rooms this is a large pet friendly hotel located in the very center of Ayr. Next to the train station the 3 star accommodation has it’s own bar and restaurant and is overlooking Burns Statue Square, about ten minutes from the airport. No extra charges for pets.
Horizon Hotel
Another centrally located pet friendly hotel the Horizon offers 3 star accommodation in a considerably smaller establishment (25 rooms). No extra charges incurred for pets. Excellent views over towards the Isle of Arran.
Savoy Park Hotel
Another 3 star pet friendly hotel is the Savoy Park, minutes from the town center. A small (fifteen rooms) family run establishment which does not charge extra for pets and offers free broadband internet in every room.
Guest Houses In Ayr Which Allow Pets
Canter Holm Guest House
The six roomed Victorian residence of Canter Holm Guest House is another 3 star pet friendly Ayr establishment which is centrally located. Sadly this is the only place on our list that says “Charges may be applicable) when referring to having a pet in your room.
Grange View
With only three rooms the 3 star Grange View Guest House is located roughly two to three minutes walk from the very center of Ayr. Pets are allowed and there are no extra charges and you will find the owners extremely helpful in making any requirements such as arranging reservations for restaurants and the likes.
Far, far too few guest houses and hotels in Ayr allow pets. This is such a great shame as fewer places rival the town as a suitable destination for a vacation with a pet. Obviously with so few pet friendly places it is important to make your booking at the first opportunity and, if you manage to book a room, please have a thoroughly enjoyable vacation.
If you are looking for pet friendly Ayr hotels or you want to pick up a last minute bargain you will find the above mentioned hotels discounted at http://hotels.simplytop.com/.

At first you may be tempted to fly into the Brisbane Airport , pick up a car hire and hit the road for the Sunshine Coast , and don’t get me wrong, this is a wonderful way to see the region, if you know where you are going and are prepared to do such. But if navigation is not your thing, then you might want to more carefully consider taking advantage of the many guided tours of this region.
You will find that finding your way around a new region can be, let us say, a bit difficult. And choosing the right tourist attractions to see and finding unique places to explore can be difficult. Especially if the only experience you have with the region is via the internet. Search engines may effectively pick up on the most relevant websites to your search terms but you certainly can’t ask them to direct you to things that will interest you while on holiday.
When you are partaking in a guided tour you will have a vacation experience that you may not be able to have on your own. There are various tours available included those that take you on a exploration of the Noosa Everglades and others that take you to enjoy the many Sunshine water sports and activities. All the tours are reasonably priced and most include a special event., access to National Parks and even meals.
All tours can be easily accessed on the internet, before you leave for your vacation. Therefore, when you arrive at the Sunshine Coast you can have your vacation planned out already. All you need to do is search for Sunshine Coast Australia Tours and all the information you desire will be at your fingertips.
Even if you don’t want to take one every day, try to arrange one tour of the Sunshine Coast region at the beginning of your holiday. This will give you a better lay of the land, and will allow you to decide which areas you want to go back and see more of.
When you are looking for sunshine coast information log onto www.sunshinecoastinformation.com.au. Whether you are looking to stay in one of the numerous Mooloolaba Hotels or wanting to know about local happenings all you need can be found on this site.

When those in the United States consider traveling abroad on vacation they often forget to realize that Canada is in contention for the trip. Since Canada is a neighboring country to the United States it has much to offer. Most of the Canadian population lives within a few hundred miles from the border line, Canada has a large country for traveler to explore.
Canada has everything from big, metropolitan cities, to small country towns and everything in between. About the only thing that you can’t find are tropical sandy beaches and good surfing spots. Probably the most famous site in the whole country is the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. For anyone who has never seen the Falls, it is quite a site. It has become a popular destination for Honeymoons in the past and has gotten a bad rap for being too touristy. Although it has been thought of that way in the past, it is really a sight to behold. It is a natural wonder that everyone should see.
Aside from the Falls, Canada is full of wonderful natural beauty. If you love ruggedness and the outdoors, then Canada is the perfect place to visit. There is a lot of cattle and grazing lands, and areas in the west that are mountainous and have a close feel to the old west of the United States. There are many cattle ranches and cowboy hats for all visitors to enjoy.
To go with the scenery, there are also many wonderful activities for you to partake in. There is mountain climbing, kicking and biking. If you are looking for water fun, there is white rafting and fishing. For hunters there is rich unspoiled wilderness that makes for a great day. If you are less of an outdoors persona there is still much for you to do and see in the southern country cities. These large cities have all that the larger cities in the United States have to offer, but with a different feel and atmosphere.
From Toronto to Vancouver, there are plenty of great destinations. Visit Quebec and you will feel like you are visiting France on a European vacation. They offer professional sports teams and plenty of entertainment. For people that are thinking about going on a vacation and visiting countries around the world, there is no better place to start than with the country just north of you. You will need a passport, but you can take your own car and travel at your own leisure seeing the sites of this beautiful country.
Cheap flights are easy to get now at Expedia.com. International flights can get to be expensive, but with the right company, like Expedia, you can get amazing deals.

If you have yet to visit the Tropical North Queensland region of Australia, you may want to consider planning a trip to visit. Tropical North Queensland is one of the most beautiful and naturally preserved region in all the world. Most of the areas in this region are listed as World Heritage, and this is due in part to the natural rainforest that remains.
A walk through the Daintree Rainforest will offer you insight into the incredible natural wonder of the rainforest. The flora and fauna will amaze you, but perhaps even more amazing is the way in which the rainforest has been naturally preserved. A trip through the rainforest will allow you insight into the different species of creatures that call this amazing land home. You can almost feel the history of this amazing wilderness area.
In addition to the rainforest there are many other wonderful areas to visit. One of the more popular areas, especially among tourists, is the Great Barrier Reef. The Reef has some of the most beautiful colors of nature all created by the coral that lines it. There is a blue stream of water that runs into the orange coral and many other breathtaking sights. It is a great place to explore and truly enjoy what nature can do.
Other fun things to do while visiting the Great Barrier Reef is scuba diving and cliff climbing. When you scuba dive you are given an up close look at the aquatic creatures of the reef and it is an experience that will always be remembered. If you cliff climb then you will be rewarded with one of the most spectacular view of the region. No matter what you do at the Great Barrier Reef, you are sure to make many wonderful memories.

Planning You Family Vacation

Summer is only a few months away and families have begun to start discussing where they would like to go on that long awaited summer vacation. This also means that many are going to be searching for an affordable car rental, and this can be simpler then you think if you follow the the tips outlined below.
1. If possible sign up as a frequent traveler with the company of your choice. When you sign up the company will ask for an email address, which they will then send discounts and promotions to. This, however, does not mean that you can only use them with that company. Many companies are know to honor competitor discounts and promotions.
2. Search the internet for any coupons and discounts. There are many discounts offered through various coupon sites and informational web pages. Then even have special sites that deal with nothing but promotional codes for various companies.
3. Check with some of the discount travel websites like Expedia, Orbitz, and Travelocity although this is a good place to search for the best rates, it is also wise to follow up with the actual companies themselves to make sure that they are really offering you the best possible deals.
4. If you are flexible on your travel dates, you will be able to get better deals. Most rental companies actually will charge you less money, the longer you are renting. The best deals are usually offered for weekend and week long rentals.
5. When you reserve your car, never reserve he car you actually desire. If you are looking to rent a luxury car, instead reserve the mid size. When you go to the rental company to get pick up your reserved car, ask about an upgrade. Most times they will upgrade for a small amount of money, as the car will only be sitting in the lot and they would be making no money on it otherwise. This is the best way to get a luxury car at a mid sized price.
Cheap airfares are important now because money is tight and people are traveling for the season. Getting a cheap flight through Expedia is simple.
Exactly Where to Locate the Top Promotions at Cheap Hotels

There are several things to think about when arranging a trip. There is the mode of transport, food and most essentially, accommodations. This canfactor in largely when choosing a family holiday and the need to house a lot more than just one person comes up. By going on the net and performing a speedy search, you can find some money saving deals on cheap hotels.
There are a lot of internet sites on line that offer reductions and special offers at cheap hotels all around the world. The one you pick largely will depend on on where you are heading and how near you want to be to the local points of interest. Several of these places to stay are not just low priced but offer a lot of of the similar features as their high priced cousins.
The biggest reductions may be discovered for longer stays like a week or more. The overnight reservations are typically around the same rate but if remaining many days, hotels almost always give some type of special fee. This rate can be even smaller if the stay happens over the week as opposed to on a weekend.
You can find cheap hotels listed all over the Web with their own internet sites, but it may be more wise to review a booking internet site. These web sites can offer distinctive quotes from numerous hotels all within the same location and usually have a description regarding what the hotel itself and the area have got to offer. This allows for easy contrast purchasing when preparing a business trip or vacation.
The booking sites may even include their own reductions and specials which are only available if you reserve the room through the site. For consumers who travel quite a bit, these web sites will provide savings such as reserving five nights through them and getting a free nights stay at a hotel of your choice. This works in the same way frequent flier miles do for a good airline.
The Internet has made it really simple for you to be your personal travel agent and obtain the best discounts on cheap hotels for you and your family group. This enables more money to be conserved and used to more significant things like the family day at the amusement park or evening meal out on that intimate weekend apart from the little ones. There are lots of of these hotels that provide weekend getaway packages at a decreased rate also.
Merely because cheap hotels are being looked at is not to mean something has to be sacrificed when it comes to service or good quality. There are many very respectable hotels on the internet with rankings from travelers groups and patrons who have stayed there numerous times. They can all be browsed on their web pages and forums of several consumer organizations also.
By simply taking a bit of time while arranging your getaway to review what exactly is being offered on the internet, you can save lots of cash and get just the kind of room sought after. All this may be achieved in a short time period, right from the comfort of your own abode. This in and of itself makes the thought of taking a getaway that much more pleasant.

A Visit To Cairns In The Tropical North Queensland Region Of Australia
January 10, 2010 by Jerry Duncan
Cairns is a wonderful city in Far North Queensland in a great location, in between the Great Dividing Range of Australia and the great blue sea. There are many great natural locations close by which brings in lots of tourists such as the Daintree Rain forest, Atherton Tableland and the Great Barrier Reef. There are many places to stay in Cairn, plenty of beds available varying from luxury hotel penthouses and little one room cottages.
Cairns was founded in 1876 in response to gold strikes inland. Trinity Inlet was an ideal port for exporting gold, and the settlement soon boasted a saw mill and an agricultural base, ensuring its existence after the gold deposits were exhausted. Rail lines were built, bringing immigrant workers into the area and creating an even larger agricultural base. Soon Cairns became a center of commerce for the area, outshining the nearby towns of Port Douglas and Smithfield. This new status necessitated improvements in transportation and public utilities, including natural gas and railroads. Due to its increased population, by 1903, Cairns had gained official recognition as a town.
Cairns has a long history of environmental awareness and protection. In 1900, the nearby Barron Falls area was designated as a national park, preserving it as an unspoiled wildlife refuge for future generations. Today, Cairns is surrounded by national parks and nature preserves, including Daintree National Park, Undara Volcanic National Park, and the Hann Tableland protected area. These exotic natural environments provide homes for native wildlife and plants and are popular destinations for ecotourists and researchers alike. Most travelers find it most convenient to stay at one of the various Cairns accommodations due to the variety of options available, but smaller hotels and camping grounds are available near these national parks as well.
Paronella Park is an architectural marvel and a major tourist attraction located near Cairns. Built in the 1930s by Jos Paronella, the Moorish-influenced concrete castle has suffered damage over the years, but retains much of its unique charm. Paronella also built the first hydroelectric generator in Queensland, currently being restored to working condition. The grounds of Paronella Park are maintained in approximately their original state, and the ballroom and cinema are available for tours.
If you’re a sun seeker, Cairns and Port Douglas have the beaches and tropical climate you dream about. There are plenty of accommodations to choose from, luxury resorts to hotels right on the beach to extended stay apartments and homes for rent. Budget challenged visitors will have a good choice also. But make sure to book your stay early as the places in Cairns fill up quickly even in the off season due to the international appeal.
If you are preparing a trip to Australia you must click on TropicalNorthQueensland.com right now to find all the information necessary for your trip. TropicalNorthQueensland.com will provide you with details about palm cove accommodation and cairns accommodation, plus make the reservation for you.
