Neat Travel Accessories That Makes A Holiday And Vacation Easier

Whether travelers take air flights, luxury cruises, trains, buses, or travel by rental cars on holidays and vacations, many people are curious and want to know what’s new and cool in holiday and vacation travel accessories.
If you would like to know what travel accessories are available to make your trip easier, more comfortable, and safer, here are some great products. These items should be available at most luggage and travel accessories stores.
What are compression bags and how much space can they save you when you pack your luggage?
If you use space saving clear plastic compression bags when packing your clothes, you can save up to a whopping 80% more space in your luggage. They can be used over and over again for many years of very easy packing.
What is a non-slip security wallet?
One accessory you should consider buying is the non-slip security travel wallet. It is about the same size as a regular wallet but it has non-slip rubber on one side which will rub against and catch on the inside of your pocket if it accidentally slips out of your pocket, or if someone tries to pick your pocket. Always put your wallet in your front pocket. Under no circumstances should you ever carry your wallet in your back pocket. Professional thieves the world over call it “the sucker pocket”.
Here’s a neat trick! You can convert your wallet into a non-slip one by putting a few wide rubber bands around it. Another solution that will help with the pickpocket problem is a chain-equipped travel wallet which you can attach to your belt.
The secret waist wallet is a wallet that compliments the non-slip travel wallet. It fits nicely under your shirt or blouse, but is still easily accessible. It is not a good idea to lift your shirt or blouse up and open this wallet in public as you never know who is watching, like a would be pickpocket, or robber. It is best to open it discretely where no one can see you doing it, such as in a public washroom stall.
A leather money belt that has a concealed, zippered pocket on the inner side of it, is an excellent security travel product. You can hide paper money, small, foldable documents, or a key in the secure, zippered pocket.
Elastic security socks have a concealed, zippered type pocket on the inside of each one of a pair of these socks. These socks would be difficult for a pickpocket to access.
Another unique accessory is the RFID blocking passport holder. This radio frequency identification holder protects your passport, and other important documents that could be compromised by data-stealing hackers.
Combination and key accessible combo luggage locks make it possible for custom’s officials to unlock your checked luggage for inspection with special skeleton keys, then lock your luggage up again. You then can dial the combination and you can open your luggage. This can save you a lot of time and money replacing regular locks that custom’s agents had to break to gain entry to inspect your luggage. Another great plus with these combo locks is that you don’t have any keys to worry about losing or replacing.
You can carry a battery-operated, personal security alarm that emits a loud, shrill sound that can help scare off a mugger or robber. Another product that is less costly and will produce the same effect is a referee’s sports whistle, which you can hide under your shirt or blouse, attached to a string, and hung around your neck.
Battery-operated hotel room intruder alarms are great hotel room safety devices. One type of alarm hangs on the room’s door knob. Any movement of the door knob or door will set the alarm off. Another one is the doorstop type which you push under the door’s bottom edge. If someone tries to open the hotel room door, the alarm will be triggered.
Women travelers can buy an innovative security purse that has a steel cable sewn in the strap. This will foil a thief who makes an attempt to cut through the strap and run away with their purse.
Easy to carry, easy to inflate, the pocket pillow is approximately 6″ x 4″ x 1″ and inflates to about 19″ x 15″. It can make a comfortable pillow to rest your head upon when you are tired or want to sleep.
Always protect your eyes from the tropical sun when traveling by wearing sunglasses that carry both a UVA as well as a UVB certified protection label.
A neat little book light that clamps on to the edge of your book will enable you to conveniently read in dim light or in total darkness. It also allows you to read in the dark and not disturb your sleeping travel companion.
If you prefer wearing backpack you should check out a steel-mesh equipped backpack. These backpacks have steel mesh sewn into the sides and bottom, the most vulnerable places where a thief can slash it with a knife. When this happens, everything tumbles out, and the thief and his cohorts will grab anything of valuable and run in different directions.
Keep in mind that you will probably have to use adaptor plugs and converters if you are traveling to certain countries.
One of the largest travel accessory stores, Magellan’s, has an award-winning catalogue that has everything for travelers from connector and adaptor plugs to secret security wallets. You can order their complete line of products catalogue online, at Magellans.com
Tilley Endurables, a legendary manufacturer of sun-protective travel clothing and accessories, created the world-famous Tilley Hat. They specialize in making stylish, comfortable, and practical outdoor hats and travel clothing. Most fabrics they use in manufacturing their hats and clothing carry a certified UPF 50 rated label, which is the highest rating for sun protection available. You can get their sun-protective clothing and accessories catalogue by going to their website, at Tilleys.com.

Affordable Disney Vacations – Five Tips for Saving Money on Food at Disney World
March 1, 2010 by Nancy Bobby
I have to say that visiting Disney World is, for us, a great excuse to eat! There are so many great choice, and most of the sit-down restaurants are good quality. In addition, it is so much fun to try new things, so we truly enjoy the eating experience at Disney World. But to do this, it can be expensive, so we have found a few ways that work for us to help save money while still enjoying the food options at Walt Disney World. In this article, we will look at five simple strategies that can really help you have an affordable Disney vacation.
1. Think about cooking and/or eating a few meals in your room. If you plan to stay in a vacation home, villa, condo, or even a hotel suite, you should have access to a kitchen. Even with a traditional hotel room, you will probably be able to have a small refrigerator: use this to store milk, juice, and sandwich fixings.
2. You can save quite a bit of money by bringing your own snacks, juice, water etc.
3. Consider sharing meals, especially if you have little ones who don’t eat much. Disney portions are usually quite large and sharingwhether between 2 kids, or an adult and childwill not leave anyone hungry.
4. You may also save some money by eating off-site, especially if you can use discount coupons or promotions. If staying off-Disney property, ask at your hotel for any they offer, and you can also look at local Orlando websites. Or purchase a local Entertainment book to get Orlando area restaurant coupons.
5. Finally, we are big fans of the Disney Dining Plan. The way the plan works, if you are staying on Disney property, you have the ability to choose from several levels of the Dining Plan, basically pre-paying for nearly all of your meals. And with several choices (providing snack, counter service, or in some plans, table service meals) there is an option for nearly any budget. For our family, who like table service meals each night, we choose the Plus Disney Dining Plan and get one snack credit, one counter meal (entree, drink, and dessert), and one table service meal (entree, drink, and dessert) per person, per day. For us, the snacks generally work well most days for breakfast, and the others will be used for lunch and dinner each day. It is frankly more food per person than we can usually eat, and so we often take our dessert with us since we are so full! For this level, the cost per day for our family of 3 is less than we would have paid just for dinner, so we are saving quite a bit of money using the Disney Dining Plan.
With all the wonderful food our family eats while at Disney World, it is a good thing that there is so much walking involved! We have definitely found that by saving money on food, it has truly helped us to plan a fantastic affordable Disney vacation on a regular basis.

Disneyland Paris – Make Your Kid’s Dreams Come True

All children dream of going to Disneyland at least once in their life, but let’s not forget that adults also like to take part in fun activities and be entertained too, which is just what Disneyland offers. The problem is that for anyone who lives outside of the U.S, traveling to the original Disneyland is a very expensive trip. On the other hand, Disneyland Paris can be easily reached by anyone who lives in Europe.
Even if you live in the U.S, it can make a nice change to take a vacation outside of the country. By going to Disneyland Paris, you can have the same exciting Disney experience, but also mix it up with some European culture by taking a day trip or two to nearby places. That is of course, if you can manage to find any spare time, as Disneyland Paris is absolutely packed with things for you to see and do!
It is no surprise that Disney Paris is becoming more popular as they have hotels in Eurodisney that offer all the facilities you need for a fun holiday. Hotels in Disneyland Paris include the official Disneyland Hotel right on site, and the Hotel New York, Newport Bay Club, Hotel Cheyenee and the Sequoia Lodge, which all offer easy access to the fun.
Staying in a Disneyland Paris hotel is something that you will remember for a long time. It is easy enough to get to the theme park itself as a free shuttle service leaves every 10 minutes from your hotel. You can also take the shuttle service to Disney Village, which is an entertainment district that includes shops, restaurants, cinemas and bars.
Another great benefit of Disneyland Paris is that more than 80% of the attractions and rides are under cover, so there is no risk of getting sun burnt or wet. The rides and attractions at Euro Disney have something to offer for everyone and you can reduce your waiting time when you use the free fastpass service.

Pet Friendly Places to Stay in Ayr, Scotland
February 26, 2010 by Andrew Kelly
Isn’t it great when you go on a vacation to somewhere you have never visited before? Do you find yourself getting excited thinking about arriving in a new place to enjoy some free time? Did you know that pets too can enjoy (and benefit from) a break away from home? Increasing numbers of folk are choosing to take their pet with them on vacation and if you visit a place such as the city of Ayr in Scotland you begin to appreciate the many advantages (for you an your pet) such a place has over other cities in the UK. Unfortunately it isn’t very easy finding pet friendly accommodation so I have listed a few Ayr hotels, that allow pets, below.
Situated on the beautiful south west coast of Scotland, the pretty town of Ayr attracts a great deal of visitors year after year. The majority of folk arrive in search of places to visit relating to the world renowned, and Scottish National Poet, Robert Burns. There are a multitude of places in Ayr in which the bard spent some time or to which there are strong associations with him and most are well worth a visit. The best way in which to gain an understanding of the man, his life and his poetry is to visit the surrounding area where you will find many more places relating to him and a host of statues and other monuments dedicated to him.
The general area around Ayr is called the county of Ayshire for which the town serves as the main center (administrative). Overall the county consists of lovely lush and green rural and agricultural land and unspoiled coast and beaches. The lack of pollution is immediately apparent with fresh country smells and crystal clear water, just perfect for you and your pet. Animals love both the countryside and the seaside and as you both explore you may start to suffer from a little deja vu. The fact is that this fantastic part of Scotland is incredibly popular with movie makers and countless number of local places have appeared in numerous works including the mystical cult British masterpiece called “The Wicker Man”. The Wickerman Festival is held just down the road at the end of July each year, it is a family friendly music and arts festival which is growing in size and popularity and I can not recommend it enough.
The Wickerman Festival is held in the neighboring county of Dumfries and Galloway but for this article I am concentrating on Ayr and Ayrshire however, before I list the pet friendly accommodation I would like to request that you really take care to ensure that your chosen hotel or guest house does not regret allowing pets in their rooms. Some places make a charge for pets while other may only charge if there is damage or the room requires extra cleaning but if everyone’s pet behaves pet lovers will keep their excellent reputation.
Three Hotels Which Allow Pets
The Swallow Station Hotel
With seventy three rooms this is a large pet friendly hotel located in the very center of Ayr. Next to the train station the 3 star accommodation has it’s own bar and restaurant and is overlooking Burns Statue Square, about ten minutes from the airport. No extra charges for pets.
Horizon Hotel
Another centrally located pet friendly hotel the Horizon offers 3 star accommodation in a considerably smaller establishment (25 rooms). No extra charges incurred for pets. Excellent views over towards the Isle of Arran.
Savoy Park Hotel
Another 3 star pet friendly hotel is the Savoy Park, minutes from the town center. A small (fifteen rooms) family run establishment which does not charge extra for pets and offers free broadband internet in every room.
Guest Houses In Ayr Which Allow Pets
Canter Holm Guest House
The six roomed Victorian residence of Canter Holm Guest House is another 3 star pet friendly Ayr establishment which is centrally located. Sadly this is the only place on our list that says “Charges may be applicable) when referring to having a pet in your room.
Grange View
With only three rooms the 3 star Grange View Guest House is located roughly two to three minutes walk from the very center of Ayr. Pets are allowed and there are no extra charges and you will find the owners extremely helpful in making any requirements such as arranging reservations for restaurants and the likes.
Far, far too few guest houses and hotels in Ayr allow pets. This is such a great shame as fewer places rival the town as a suitable destination for a vacation with a pet. Obviously with so few pet friendly places it is important to make your booking at the first opportunity and, if you manage to book a room, please have a thoroughly enjoyable vacation.
If you are looking for pet friendly Ayr hotels or you want to pick up a last minute bargain you will find the above mentioned hotels discounted at http://hotels.simplytop.com/.
The Historical Intrigue Of The Highlands Of Scotland
February 19, 2010 by Matt Robson
The Highlands of Scotland were well written about for their wars and betrayals and it is certainly accurate that from the reign of James IV in the 1490’s existence in the Highlands was somewhat tumultuous. In 1493, James went against the strong chiefs of the MacDonald Clan and forfeited the MacDonald Lord of the Isles in favour of himself and the Campbell Clan. Therefore the Campbell’s took over as powerhouse in that time at the expense of the MacDonalds.
Issues arose not only with the MacDonalds but also with several additional Scottish clans because of this harmful power divide that the Campbells kept over all others. The Campbell were in such a position that they could buy up readily available land and charge a kind of lease upon anybody that wished to utilize the area for cows or sheep. The MacLeans were especially aggrieved Clan. As a sidenote here, the actual word Clan emanates from the Gaelic expression “clann” which actually means “children”.
It would seem this can signify any person inside a clan were strongly related however this was not the case. Only the higher echelons of the specific clan were associated with the chiefs. All others simply saw the chief as the leader rather than as a relative as such.
The actual structure of clans came from a combination of early Celtic idealism and feudal procedures, the primary point being the ownership of lands. The clan chief was the master of the lands of the clan and he had the capability to grant the land out to his fellow clans men. The position of a clan however wasn’t actually about the quantity of land that the family held but more with regards to how many males the clan may muster to fight in battle. As a result of Highlands being very militaristic they would be looked to for fighting men during the time of turmoil involving the King and his opposition. For the highland clans this became problematic since they often became embroiled in lowland politics.
When James VI came to be King however, civil war broke out. When he called on the clans to assist the Campbells decided otherwise. It was not just the Campbells who were to cause issues for James – he extirped (sent away) the clan MacGregor in 1603, and in 1609 he introduced new laws in to force which limited all clan chiefs from utilizing and abusing their earlier powers.

Are You Planning On Attending A Business Meeting
February 15, 2010 by Orhan Leiser
Are you planning on attending a business meeting or taking a vacation out of the country? If so, you will need to book a seat on an international flight. Have you ever been on an international flight before? If not, there are a number of factors that you should first consider, such as the international air travel rules. In fact, it is not only recommended that you do, it is required that you do. Not knowing all of the international air travel rules could land you in a boatload of trouble.
While there are in-flight travel rules that you must abide by, there are also other rules. These other rules are ones that apply in all airports, including international airports. Since you will arrive at the airport first, before actually boarding your airplane, it is advised that you first familiarize yourself with these common air travel rules.
As previously mentioned, there are a number of airport rules that exist in all airports, regardless of whether those airports are international airports or domestic airports. These rules commonly include a list of prohibited items, the screening of all baggage, the removal of your shoes, and the screening of passengers. In addition to these airport travel rules, which can be found in almost all airports in the United States, there are some air travel rules that only apply to international airports.
The number one rule that you must stay by at an international airfield is identifying who you are. Since airline officials and airfield security cannot guarantee that you are who you claim to be, you will need to show proof of identification. Depending on where you are traveling to, this finding may need to be more than a simple government issued finding card or driver?s license. In fact, you may also need to supply your birth certificate, a passport, a visa, or a certificate of citizenship. For additional information on which proofs of finding are required, you are advised to contact the international airfield or airline that you will be using.
When boarding your airplane, you are advised to do it in a calm, but timely matter. As soon as your airplane is in the air, you need to follow all instructions given by the pilot or flight attendants. This includes staying in your seat until it is safe to get up. In the event that you refuse to cooperate with the airline staff, you may be putting yourself and other passengers in danger.
While it is important to understand all international air travel rules, there are many travelers who are unsure why those rules are so important. They are important not only for your country and well being, but for the country and well being of others. Although it may seem ridiculous at the time, but if you refuse to stay in your seat or you are caught arguing with airfield security, you will find that you are automatically tagged a terror suspect. This is largely due in part to the fear of another terrorist attack. Once this happens it is often difficult or impossible to go back to normal.
In the event that you violate international airport security rules, intentionally or not, it is likely that you will be pulled aside. Depending of the rule that you violated, you may only receive a warning, but you could also receive much more. Should you be labeled as a suspicious traveler, you may be detained by airport security or local authorities for an undetermined amount of time. The same can be said for international air travel rule violations in the air. Once your airplane is able to land, often at the nearest available airport, you will be held for questioning.
What will happen after questioning will all depend on your actions and the preferences of local authorities or airfield security. Since you can never guarantee the outcome of your actions, it is important that you stay on your best behavior when at an international airfield or aboard an international flight.

How to Get Married in Paradise
February 14, 2010 by Roger Overton

When you get married, it is all about the love, sharing that special day with your partner, family and friends. However, as air fares get cheaper and destinations more accessible, it is becoming more and more common for couples to take their weddings off-shore, or off-state to a new and romantic location.
Why is this becoming popular? Firstly, it allows you tailor your wedding around a favourite holiday destination or place of significance. Did you dream of getting married on the beach, frangipanis in your hair and a golden sunset, but you are stuck in the city? Dream no more, tropical weddings are affordable and professional with many tropical destinations offering specialist wedding and honeymoon packages.
Destinational wedding packages can be tailored to suit your dreams. From romantic couple only escapes to complete family and friends getaways.
When thinking of taking your wedding away, beachside nuptials appear to be the preferred escape and Cairns, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia is the perfect destination. Cairns offers happy couples a variety of options. A ceremony on the beach, with the sand between your toes, or something more formal in a seaside chapel, followed by a beach reception with tables set up in the sand. Arrive by car, or for something different, you can kayak or even sky dive into your nuptials. Many couples have experienced the thrill of this in Cairns, Australia and it brings a whole new meaning to pre-wedding jitters or nerves.
Is this not close enough to the water for you? In Cairns, you can even get married underwater, while diving the Great Barrier Reef. Don’t believe me! It has been done, underwater photographers are available to capture your special moment with nemo and a graceful sea turtle as your witness.
If that is too extreme, but you want to include a visit to the Reef in your destinational wedding, then simply plan a half day or full day trip around your nuptials. There are plenty of combinations available in Cairns Australia, from a helicopter trip to an isolated coral cay, to an exclusive charter taking you to a remote, pristine coral reef.
What about your guests? Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia are considered a must visit destination for many people. Everyone wants to go there, most just need an excuse. Make your wedding a trip of a lifetime for you and your guests by bringing them to Cairns.
As well as being a part of your special day, this tropical paradise offers a range of exciting activities. Reef trips, rainforest excursions, beach horse riding, tropical taste tours and some of the world’s leading spa retreats are all found here.
If you lean more green than blue in your wedding choices, Cairns is the only place on earth where World Heritage tropical rainforest slides down to meet the golden beaches and fringes of the Great Barrier Reef.
These are the world’s oldest continually surviving tropical rainforests and you can get married here, celebrating your love in this pristine nature’s paradise. Let towering cathedral figs be your altar, mossy pavers your aisle and falling leaves your confetti. Rainforest weddings can be as formal or informal as you like. A range of chapels are nestled amongst the greenery for more traditional ceremonies, or slip off your shoes and take your celebrant somewhere remote for a memorable ceremony.
Your guests will thank you for bringing them to this amazing tropical paradise. When they are not at your wedding, they can enjoy luxurious accommodation, explore the reef and rainforest, cuddle a koala or even take an outback tour.
There are many activities to choose from that the wedding party and guests can enjoy. There could be activities such as shopping, snorkeling, boat rides, guided tours or even wine tasting. Just keep in mind that it is typically the bride or groom or their families footing the bill so be sure not to tell your guests the cost of the bill because they more than likely would feel uncomfortable having someone else paying for them.
The great part of destination weddings is that it is usually more intimate and typically only the close family and friends come. So you could have more personal activities. You could have a sleepover the night before the wedding and have everyone over to the hotel for movies, drinks, and popcorn.
Just remember that for many of your guests your destination wedding may double as their vacation. So be sure to find out their plans so that you don’t over book. Some guests may choose to plan their own activities.
Any activities you choose, your destination wedding will be sure to be special and a long lasting memory for many years to come.
When planning your destinational wedding, make sure you use a professional Cairns wedding photographer, because you will want to capture your Cairns Wedding Photography in the best possible light.
