Utah is one of those places that you have to experience to understand it. If you talk to people about Utah that have never been there, you get a lot of strange ideas! A lot of people I’ve talked to assume that most of Utah looks either like a bunch of ski resorts or it’s a crazy desert like Moab. The truth is that yes, Utah offers all of these things. But it also offers some great urban living!

What to Do in the Urban Parts of Utah

The largest urban part of Utah is Salt Lake City. But the great thing about living in Salt Lake City or its suburbs is that you are a short distance from anything you want to do.

If you’re into skiing or snowboarding, Utah is home to some of the greatest snow on earth. People come from all over the world to ski our slopes. But if you’re more of a summer person, you can also enjoy numerous activities in the mountains as well.

To the West is the Great Salt Lake. Utah is also home to many other lakes that are a short drive away if you enjoy water sports. Take your pick and have a nice day at the lake!

Speaking of sports, Salt Lake City is also home to the Utah Jazz! And in other sports, Salt Lake City is also home to the Major League Soccer team Real Salt Lake. We also have a minor league baseball team and arena football team. So no matter what your sport of choice, you can find a way to enjoy it live in Utah.

Naturally you’ll have to work if you’re going to live here. Good thing Utah has a lot of great companies to choose from like Novell, Intel, and others in any industry imaginable. No matter what your industry is, you’ll find a company to work for here. And the urban living is great as well!

A Short Distance Away…

If you’re willing to drive a little bit outside of the urban areas of Utah, there are a lot of other things you can do as well. Just head north or south and there are tons of activities to do and things to see.

As mentioned before, Utah is home to some of the best snow on earth. And, you have plenty of resorts to choose from! Alta, Snowbird, Park City, The Canyons, Sundance, and more all have their home in Utah.

If you travel to Southern Utah you can find some of the most beautiful National Parks that any state has to offer. Utah is home to Zion’s, Arches, Lake Powell, and Bryce Canyon. With all these national parks you’ll have plenty to explore.

Why Move to Utah?

With all of the things to do and places to work, Salt Lake City and the surrounding suburbs are in my opinion one of the best urban living cities in the country. We have tons to offer in terms of outdoor activities, sports, and anything else you could want. And we’re home to some great companies to work for!
